Farmworks Australia
DAVID Jones is the new chief executive officer of Western Australian agricultural products and services provider FarmWorks Australia.
Formerly Elders WA general manager before moving to the national sales manager's role with a chemical supplier, he replaces FarmWorks chief operating officer Malcolm Dann, who filled the role following Rick Moody’s April resignation.
The business is also preparing for a name change to Conquest Agri Ltd as a result of the May sale of its livestock, property and finance businesses and its branch retail network in WA to Ruralco Holdings for $5.5 million.
FarmWorks chairman Larry Shutes said the restructure would enable the listed company to focus solely on growing the Conquest Crop protection business, a wholly owned subsidiary of FarmWorks.
It sells more than 70 crop protection products to retail outlets nationally.
Former AWB/Landmark new business boss Paul Barber has also been appointed commercial general manager to help drive the company's restructured chemical business focus.
He has 30 years' experience with corporate agribusiness roles also at Incitec Pivot, Elders and Smorgon Cyclone Rural.
