Young Holstein breeders
Eight Holstein young breeders from NI competed in the Irish National calf show handling classes for the first time last week in Kilkenny.
Lauren Henry from Stranocum was placed second in the intermediate class, going on to become reserve champion handler.
This was a fantastic achievement with more than 20 handlers in each class.
Mark Henry was placed 7th in the senior class and Andrew Patton from Newtownards was 6th in the mature class.
Other NI competitors were Ellie McLean, Bushmills, and Desmond McCorry, Portadown (in the junior class); James-Anthony McCorry, Portadown, (intermediate class); Heather Martin, Newtownards, (senior class) and William Bolton, Maghera (mature class).
Co-ordinator Jonny Lyons said it was a fantastic show, which members had thoroughly enjoyed. He hoped that it will become an annual trip.
