Bon (Bloody) Hawke who gave farmers 80 cents for bullets to shoot their sheep

What a bloody joke to praise Bob Hawke who in 1990 encouraged farmers to and even paid for the 22 rifle bullets.
How does a Prime Minister Amass the money Bobby or Paul Keating did on their lowly salaries.
kill their sheep and bury themMinister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Senator Joe Ludwig, said the award was a tribute to former Prime Minister Bob Hawke’s role in driving national support for Landcare, calling on all Australians to unite with government to tackle the crisis in natural resource conservation.

A PRIZE package of $50,000 is on offer from the federal government to honour an outstanding Australian landcarer.
The new Bob Hawke Landcare Award, which will be presented for the first time at the National Landcare Awards on September 4, will honour "an individual who has been involved in championing the Landcare ethic and inspiring others to take action on their own property or through a Landcare group".

It supersedes Landcare's former highest individual honour, the McKell medal, and will be presented biennially.

The winner will be presented with a prize package valued at up to $50,000, and be given an honorary two-year position on the Australian Landcare Council.

“Like its namesake, the award will recognise an outstanding individual effort in encouraging Australians to adopt sustainable and productive agricultural practices,” Minister Ludwig said.

“Bob Hawke acknowledged the environmental problems Australia faced in declaring the ‘90s the ‘Decade of Landcare’.

“This action played a key role in elevating Landcare from a grass roots community initiative to a movement of national significance with strong government support.”
