Floods hit farmers
The Agriculture Ministry has estimated a $6.8 million loss to flood affected farms after preliminary survey.
However - the Minister for Primary Industries, Joketani Cokanasiga says the figure could go up once the survey is completed and a detailed report is drawn up.
Cokanasiga is currently touring the Western Division with a team of senior agricultural officers.
He says the Ba province has suffered significant damage to both food security and exportable commodities.
