Top dairy prize
David Cotton won the prestigious Dairy Industry Award, presented at the annual dinner on the eve of the show.
Mr Cotton, a director of the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers, trades in family partnership, near Glastonbury, with 160 Holstein Friesians, averaging 8,800 litres.
His holding is the home of Kingshay Farming Trust, with various trials staged on farm.
He is a former county chairman of the Somerset Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs and Somerset CMA, a member of the Institute of Agricultural Management and a council member of Milk Link. He is married with two young daughters.
