Earthquake hits farmers
Italy has revised the economic cost of last month’s earthquakes which struck the north of the country killing 26 people.
One sector badly effected is the region’s agriculture. Some 2,000 farms have been damaged, inflicting losses now estimated to be as much as 705 million euros.
Worst hit have been farm buildings and irrigation installations.
The quakes and after shocks are also likely to halt production in many local factories for up to six months
