Reduction in grain imports - Iraq set to reduce grain imports as production recovers
Iraq looks set to reduce grain imports to 4.9 million tonnes this season from 5.2mt in 2009/10, as the country recovers from two straight years of drought.
Around 3.6mt of the 2010/11 total is expected to be wheat, while 1.2mt of rice are likely to be imported, the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation said in its latest country brief.
