South Molton sheep fair
The sheep hurdles are ready, the ballot has been drawn and thousands of animals will be in town for South Molton Sheep Fair on Wednesday.
Breeders are bringing rams from Cornwall and Somerset as well as from North and Mid Devon for the event. Auctioneers Stags will operate from the older sheep pens on the north side of the town's market road and the south side.
Auctioneer Michael Edwards, said numbers were a bit lower than last year but there was still likely to be around 2,500 sheep sold on the day.
Entries received: 250 full mouth ewes, 100 ewe lambs, 300 white faced Shearlings, 730 blackface Shearlings, and 150 Mule Shearlings, 42 M V accredited rams and 80 commercial rams.
Rams include Charollais, Texel, Suffolk, Devon Closewool, Hampshire Down, Polled Dorset and Border Leicesters.
Ewes include Texels, North Country and Exmoor Mules, Polled Dorsets, Zwarbles, Lleyns, Mashams, Welsh Blacks and Suffolk and Texel Cross North Country Mules.
