Concerns over pork prices
Taking the p out of the price.
It is disappointing that Tulip and Vion chose to take a penny out of their headline prices yesterday, reports marketing group Meadow Quality.
"Will that 80p saving be passed on to retailers to discount prices and stimulate more consumer demand? No, we don't think so either, but we will be asking the retailers directly, if it did.
"More likely, it was to balance the United Kingdom product price against imports which will have fallen in value due to the euro which continues to weaken, now over ten percent down from where it was a year ago."
