Points of note on herd health plans
Herd health plans aim to focus veterinary advice on preventing disease rather than treating an outbreak;
They aim to greatly cut costs by reducing losses due to illness and to increase health and thrive on a farm;
A huge benefit of herd health plans is that they move away from a reliance on antibiotics and move more towards vaccination;
Antibiotic resistance is a worldwide problem in human medicine, and foodstuff produced with minimal antibiotic usage is an easier commodity to sell and export.
