United Dairy Farmers AGM
THERE was a massive turnout of members from across Northern Ireland at the United Dairy Farmers AGM, held in the Glenavon House Hotel in Cookstown on Thursday night, 18 October.
At the meeting the United Chairman, John Dunlop reported that Group turnover had increased by 9% to £437 million in 2011/12; Group profit before tax had increased by £1.0 million to £5.2 million; and the average milk price paid to United members had increased by 1.5 ppl to a record 27.26 ppl.
Group Chief Executive, David Dobbin, explained the Group plans to double Dale Farm’s cheese production capacity, which will provide increased demand for milk supplies in the year ahead, and especially over the peak milk supply period.
