A million dollars worth of Charolais bulls
David says this year's draft of bulls represent some of the beef industry's best breeding sires.
"The bulls carry that great balance of pedigree, phenotype and objective data that has built the Palgrove reputation.
There is a 'new generation' of sires represented in the sale catalogue this year.
"These sires have been used to produce balanced cattle with a focus on fast weight gain and finish while still retaining the quality that Palgrove has become known for in the last 43 years or so," Mr Bondfield said.
The sale catalogue offers 120 outstanding Charolais bulls with 45 polled this year, more than ever before as well as many red factor sires.
Mr Bondfield explains that Palgrove has been developing its polled breeding program over many years by selecting first and foremost for the traits that make their clients money.
"Our aim is to retain the Charolais 'grunt' and softness and enhance it with a polled head," he said.
There are bulls with stud sire potential right through the catalogue from the two-year-olds to the exceptional group of yearlings.
On offer is also a great line of 20 Charolais/Angus hybrid bulls that offer Palgrove clients plenty of market options over Bos Indicus or British breed females.
Palgrove again offers a real 'line of bulls' that tells a story about what their breeding program represents.
"We know that end-users pay premiums for even lines of cattle that fit market specifications. Our common-sense breeding program has been focused on producing consistency in our bulls to ensure our buyers achieve these premiums."
In order to offer clients as much assistance in selecting their bulls as possible, Palgrove offers a full description of the bulls' phenotype in the sale catalogue; a comprehensive set of scan and Breedplan data as well as photos and a preview video on their website.
"Whether it's your next stud sire, a top commercial Charolais or Charolais/Angus hybrid bull or a consistent line of herd bulls to give some punch to your crossbreeding program, Palgrove is sure that you won't be disappointed with the sale draft."
The Bondfields are always keen to show producers the bulls prior to sale day.
